Australian Gold Kangaroo coins debuted in 1987, but at the time the series had a different design focus and name. Then known as the Australian Gold Nugget, the collection featured new reverse depictions of different famous gold nuggets discovered on the Australian continent. For example, the first design in the collection depicted the Welcome Stranger Nugget. In 1990, the series changed to feature the kangaroo on the reverse each year instead of a gold nugget.

All of these 2021 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins are available to you here today in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins will ship either inside of individual acrylic capsules or in boxes of 100 gold coins. The Perth Mint offers an unlimited mintage option for the 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo, indicating the coins will continue to be struck for buyers through the end of 2021 and the release of the next design in the series for 2022.

Queen Elizabeth II is featured in the obverse design of the 2021 1 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coin. This bust of the Queen was developed for the Royal Mint of England in 2015 by Jody Clark and has featured across various Australian coin programs since 2019. The image shows the Queen in right-profile relief and includes her neckline and shoulders for the first time on Australian coins since 1966.

A kangaroo is shown in a new design on the reverse of 2021 Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins. This years depiction shows the kangaroo in a crouched position with its powerful rear legs bent and short front arms reaching down to balance on the ground.
